Haflong November 20: The inaugural edition of the “Maihadi Festival 2025” will be held on November 22 at Nobdilangting in Dima Hasao. Organized by the Maihadi Festival Celebration Committee.
According to the invitation issued by the committee’s convenor, Ansll Laoluoe, the festival seeks to highlight the vital role agriculture plays in local life and reinforce the community’s cultural identity. The program is expected to bring together farmers, youth, and other community members for two days of traditional festivities, showcasing indigenous farming methods, folk performances, and cultural displays.
Organizers believe that such initiatives are crucial in recognizing and inspiring the farming community, especially as traditional agricultural celebrations across northeast India often serve to strengthen social ties and broaden awareness of farming’s importance to regional identity. The committee warmly invites esteemed guests, stating that their presence will greatly motivate attendees and honor local traditions.
