Guwahati, 10th October: In anticipation of the upcoming foggy season, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the cancellation and frequency reduction of several train services to ensure smooth and safe operations. The measures, effective from 1st December 2025 to 3rd March 2026, are aimed at maintaining safety, punctuality, and operational efficiency during periods of low visibility across northern and eastern India. The decision was confirmed in an official statement issued by Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR.
Train Cancellations:
Train No. 15903 (Dibrugarh–Chandigarh Express) will remain cancelled from 1st December 2025 to 27th February 2026, while its return service, 15904 (Chandigarh–Dibrugarh Express), will remain cancelled from 3rd December 2025 to 1st March 2026. Similarly, 15620 (Kamakhya–Gaya Express) will not operate from 1st December 2025 to 23rd February 2026, and its counterpart, 15619 (Gaya–Kamakhya Express), will remain cancelled from 2nd December 2025 to 24th February 2026.
Additionally, 15621 (Kamakhya–Anand Vihar Terminal Express) will be cancelled from 4th December 2025 to 26th February 2026, while 15622 (Anand Vihar Terminal–Kamakhya Express) will not operate from 5th December 2025 to 27th February 2026.
Reduced Frequency of Train Services:
1. 12505 (Kamakhya–Anand Vihar Terminal) North East Express will remain cancelled every Wednesday and Sunday from 3rd December 2025 to 25th February 2026, and its return service 12506 (Anand Vihar Terminal–Kamakhya) will not operate every Friday and Tuesday from 5th December 2025 to 27th February 2026.
2. 15483 (Alipurduar–Delhi) Sikkim Mahananda Express will be cancelled every Wednesday and Saturday from 3rd December 2025 to 28th February 2026, while 15484 (Delhi–Alipurduar) will remain cancelled every Friday and Monday from 5th December 2025 to 27th February 2026.
3. 12523 (New Jalpaiguri–New Delhi Express) will not operate every Tuesday from 2nd December 2025 to 24th February 2026, and 12524 (New Delhi–New Jalpaiguri) will remain cancelled every Wednesday from 3rd December 2025 to 25th February 2026.
4. 15909 (Dibrugarh–Lalgarh Jn.) Avadh Assam Express will be cancelled every Saturday from 6th December 2025 to 28th February 2026, while 15910 (Lalgarh Jn.–Dibrugarh) will not run every Tuesday from 9th December 2025 to 3rd March 2026.
NFR has advised passengers to check updated schedules through the IRCTC website, NTES, and official social media platforms before planning their journeys. These measures underscore NFR’s commitment to passenger safety and service reliability during the challenging winter season.
